A test match was played, and the best of them were selected to represent their parish.Bowling was a game that had great prominence during the 'seventies. It was played on a long stretch of road from the cross of Knocknagall in Piercestown, to Rathjarney. The men had a large iron ball about a foot in circumference and about 1 1/2 pounds in weight.
