    The ropes for the ships were made in Coady's Rope Works - which were situated in King Street at the place which is now called the "Rope Walk".
    The spikes which held the ropes while they were being twisted were to be seen till quite recently. And to use the expression of an old fisherman.
    "Coady's ropes would hold a bull.".
