- Patrick Rossiter was another of the heroes who fought in '98. He was the son of a protestant gentleman.The rebellion broke out on the Harrow on Saturday evening, the 26th of May, and the news spread like wild fire around the country.
Patrick Rossiter was up at dawn the following morning. He dressed himself in his master's full Yeoman regimentals, saddled his horse and went to join the rebels on Oulart Hill.
The battle of Oulart Hill broke out that afternoon. Where the kings army began to ascend the hill to attack the crowd of insurgents, hastily gathered from the peasant population, finding themselves suddenly faced with battle.
