- All the boys and girls still keep the same customs on Hallow Eve as they did in olden times. They call Hallow Eve "Cabbage Stump night in Wexford". The reason of this is that they keep the cabbage stumps after colcannon for the next night. The fun begins after tea. All the children father together in back places and tell each other which street they are going to go to knock doors. People usually stand behind the door with a stick in their hands and when the children knock the doors the people hit them.
