- 206Local PoetsThe late Mr John Murphy, Mangan, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, formerly of Kilcoulshea, Ferns Co Wexford used to make songs for the (Enniscorthy) "Echo" (newspaper). One song he made was the "The Burning of Boolavogue Chapel." He was a maternal uncle of my father's (Laurence Breen). He died about forty-five years ago (i.e. 1893).
A niece to this man is Mrs James Redmond, Carrigeen, Ferns, Co Wexford who is also a poet.
My father who was a neohew to Mr John Murphy often made a song.Nora Breen,
