- There are three forges in this district. The names of them are Mr. Kehoe's in Graiguemore, and Mr. Somer's in Graiguemore, and Mr. Carton's in Tombrack. The roof on the forge is slated, there is one fire-place. The fire is blown by water. The Blacksmith shoes horses and asses and mends farm implements.
The black-smith trade is usually passed on from father to son. The blacksmith's in olden times made pikes and sometimes iron swords. The smith is always busy. He has also many other tools. He is a great story-teller.- Collector
