There was an old woman in County Wexford and she used to take the butter by skimming the well on the first day of May. "Some for me none for ye I take the butter for the whole year round". So the farmers then would be churning for an hour and they could not churn. So they put a coulter in the churn and then the first woman who came in was the person to take the buttter.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
