Buttermilk was used and is used at the present time for making home-made bread, and some people use it with porridge.
Buttermilk is also a wholesome drink.In the Summer time when the milk is plentiful the people churn three or four times in the week, but in Winter, once a week, and it takes longer in Winter to make the butter than in the Summer time.At the present time the churning is done in a different way, and the churns are also different.The churn used now is shaped like a barrel, and called an end-over-end(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
