    they first put a ring of holy water around the spot and then started digging. They had not gone far when the hound became very, very angry and they were forced to flee. By looking at this skeogh it would be easily realise that these attempts were made as it is all torn about the bottom as if who ever was attempting had an axe or some such instrument. There is a path near to this and people coming home late at night have often met with this hound. No one has ever succeeded yet in the discovery of this treasure but probably some lucky person will some time.
