Joseph Flynn, Kilmurry, Daingean, Offaly, and Michael Kilroe, Kilmurry, Jack Carroll and Michael Wuinn, Ballyteague, Ballycommon, Daingean, Offaly are good turf cutters. They are able to cut twenty three boxes in the day.

He could cut an acre of corn in a day. Paddy Kelly, Bracklin, Kilbeggan, Co, Westmeath, saved Sheila Dunne from being drowned in the canal.

- Mr Pat Mallon, Kilmurry, Daingean, was a great weight thrower. He was able to throw a half hundred weight twenty one feet. Mr Tim Connor Daingean was a great weight lifter. He was able to lift twelve stone with his teeth. Mr. Peter Wright was a great runner. He chased a deer for six hours until he ran into a stable and caught her.
