- The old mill where they used to mke the flour in Clara was burnt to the ground in the year 1918 on the 11th of November. Nobody was burnt.
A bearing got hot and it went on fire and a man named Tom Richard threw a can of oil on it instead of a can of water. They had to get a fire-engine out to put down the fire.
The heat could be felt far away up the back-road.
