The name of my townland is Clonminch and my parish is Kilbride. I live in the barony of Ballycowan.
There are twenty families living in Clonminch and the population of Clonminch is 96. Gowan is the most common family name in my district. Most of the houses are tatched in Clonminch. There are four people over seventy living in Clonminch. None of the people in my district know Irish. The old people can tell stories in English.
There were more houses in Clonminch long ago than there are now.
There are some of the ruins of the old houses there still. My townland is not mentioned in any song or poem.
The land in my townland is boggy.
There is no lake in Clonminch. There is one stream the Barony stream.
There is a wood in Clonminch; the Charleville wood.- Bailitheoir
