- In olden times Country shops were more common than they are now a days but they were only little hucksters shops not atal like the shops in the Country now. The people had to go to the town that was nearest to them to by their wants. Buying and selling were carried on outside the chapel on Sunday after Mass. Travellers were the people that were selling, and prayer books and statues and other religious things were what they sold.
Money was not always given for goods sometimes other goods were given in exchange such as eggs, butter, cheese or other farm produce namely wheat, barley, oats etc; The people(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
