- 1. When Saint Manchan died there was a great dispute between the people of Lemonaghan and the people of Kilmonaghan. The people of Lemonaghan wanted to have him buried in Lemonaghan and the people of Kilmonaghan wanted to have him buried in Kilmonaghan. When the coffin was brought out of the church to be buried there was a great fight between the two parties. Just then an old gray haired man appeared in their midst and told them to leave the coffin on the road and turn their backs. They did as they were told but when they turned around again the man had vanished and there were two coffins on the road, one facing Lemonaghan and the other facing Kilmonaghan.
