- There is a well in Leamonaghan, Co. Offaly, parish of Ballinahown. It is dedicated to St. Manchans. It is situated outside the wall of the graveyard, on the south side. There is good drinking water in it, and it is also used for cooking.
The well is held in great respect by the local people and they visit it on Fridays and on the Saints feast to pray there and get cure of their ailments. There is an old ash tree beside the well. People say that the tree was knocked down one night and grew up again next day. People take a piece of this tree home and put it up in their house and cow houses.- Bailitheoir
