  1. Some years ago a certain man from Cloghan, with his wife and friends, was at a party in Banagher.
    It was during "the Black and Tan" period in Ireland.
    When they were coming home late that night in their horse and trap they were halted outside the town by one of the British soldiers on guard. He said"Halt"
