After many weeks an approach was made & no resistance met with. Their task being completed they withdrew. During the foregoing weeks different men tending sheep on the Carlow side of the mountain saw men gesticulating in the fissure high up on the mountain side but being of a superstitious turn fled taking their flocks with them.
