- In the townland of Grangeford Parish of Rathoe and Barony of Carlow. Mrs Mary Anne Fitzpatrick cured a disease called Anthony's Fire with her blood. Her father was a Keogh and married a Keogh and their children's blood cured Anthony's Fire. There was a brother who lived in Straboe named John Keogh who cured this disease also.

- A cure for sore throat in old times is a plant we call Camomile. Boil a saucepan of water put Camomile into it and boil for an hour. Cover up your head with a blanket and let the steam down your throat. It was supposed to be a very good cure for sore throat.A good cure for Yellow Jaundice in olden times was an herb known as a Saffron. Boil it in milk for a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
