    in the house opposite Bennikerry old Chapel. He is remembered by an old woman named Margaret Hickery and her sister Elizabeth Tobih who recall him singing and dancing about seventy years ago. He was then an old man. He made many songs, one being "Down by the Burrin side" and another "Pride of Bennekerry". He wrote in English. A story is told of him being attending Mass on Sunday in Bennekerry church he looked through the window and saw a lot of crows on his bit of oats, he took up his hat and shook it and shouted, "Hush they wont leave a grain in it".
