    There is a great view from where it was and so it was easy to see the soldiers coming. The rock is there still, it is a flat topped rock. The mark of the four holes where the candles were put are to be seen still. There is a Mass Rock in Kilcarry also. There are many Mass Paths in this district. The important one is from Kilcarry to the back of the chapel in Kildavin. There was another from Cronaleigh to Ballinvalley, this one goes across the mountain. There are a few Mass Paths in Cranemore which lead across the mountain to Kilbranish. There is a smaller one at the back of Levingstone's in Ballyshancarragh and another by the bank of the Slaney.
    There was an old church in Barraugh. It was burned down by Cromwell on his march from Drogheda to Wexford. People say there was a gold chalice buried there when Cromwell was seen approaching. The ruins of this old church are still to be seen. Where the doorway was there is a stone with the mark of a foot in it, it is said that it is a saint's foot. There is
