- In olden times there were very good mowers. The best was Tobe Doyle, Rossard, Kiltely, Co Wexford. He would have an acre of corn mowed before the people got up in the morning. Jim Kelly, Kilbranish, Co Wexford was a good mower. Tom Shannon, Acclare, Myshall Co Carlow was also a good mower. All those men would mow four acres in one day and at the end of the day they would get paid. In olden times the people would be always challenging each other. When they were starting about five would go after each other and if the first was not able to keep out of the other(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
