- The different kinds of bread made in this district in olden times were called "Homemade bread" "Farmer's bread" "flat bread" and cake bread. Mr. Mulligan grew wheat in olden times and they got it ground in Bray, and used to make cakes of it. In olden times the people used to grind the oats in a stone pig trough with a stone, for the horses. Potato cake was made in this district. The people would make one every evening and Stampy oaten Bread used to be made but, it would be hard to eat. The ingredients used were soda, salt oaten meal, butter milk, and some flour "Barley brerad" would kill(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
