    13. I find no local traditions under this heading.
    14. Only reference to Danes locally is in connection with small clay piped which are frequently found in the fields + are invariably called Danes pipes. I cannot explain the origin of the name.
    15. The O'Byrnes + OTooles were the old ruling family of the district. The fact is commonly recognized but practically no reference made to it.
    16. The popular local heroes were Billy Byrne + Michael Dwyer of the '98 period + most daring escapades are still recalled. The existing traditions in connection with them I have already recorded + they have been published in the Bealordes of 1936 in part. Parnell spent a considerable time in the locality + occasional references to him are to be found.
    17. The suffering of the people during the famine period are still recalled but I have forwarded them already to the Folklore institute
