On Ballyheady mountain about three miles from Ballyconnell there is a cairn of stones.
Some time ago men went to draw stones to make roads. When they began to draw away the stones, they discovered a big flag in the front of the cairn.
They took it away and found human bones under it. They closed it up again and a man came from Dublin and examined the place. He said that it was an ancient burial place.
A few perches to the west of the cairn there is a ring of stones. In olden days the bodies of the dead were buried there.
The ashes were gathered and put on an urn and buried under the cairn.- Faisnéiseoir
