    One morning in May, as primrose sprang gay,
    And the Valleys being spangled all around.
    The birds on each tree, join in sweet melody.
    They would charm the air with their sound,
    My mind free from care, and some time for to spare
    My blood dancing in every vein;
    My heart full of glee, being bent on a spree

    My gallant young Knight of Drumlane.
    III
    This maiden so fair, with her long golden hair.
