The teachers were Master Rudden and his wife Mrs Rudden. The master was a tall lean man and was very well liked by his pupils. Mrs Rudden was of the same type. They were paid by the children's parents according to what class the children were in.
The pupils numbered about 80 and were up of Catholics and Protestants. The children were not very well dressed but were very intelligent and liked to learn all they could.
The subjects that were taught were, English, Reading, Arithmetic, Grammer, Needle-work and Catechism to the catholic children. No Irish was taught as it was against the law at that time to teach Irish in the schools.
