- I have often heard a story about how the robin for her name "Robin Redbreast. Long ago, when fairies were not very uncommon, there was an old fairy king, who wanted some rooms painted. A goblin soon came to paint them. He painted them a lovely red, and the king praised him for his work.
Now this goblin was very vain, and he wanted still more praise. So one night he painted the king's favourite statue the same red. When the king saw it, he put the goblin out of the land. As the poor goblin was trudging through a forest, a few birds asked him to paint them but there was such a crowd he could only dab them on their breasts.- Bailitheoir
