    until they came to three cross roads, and each of them took a road of his won. Before they parted they said they would meet together at the same place on that day seven years.
    The eldest travelled on till he joined with a robber and served his time for seven years. The second joined with a sharpshooter for seven years and the third served for seven years with a "joiner."
    They worked hard and it was not for the sake of money they worked but that they might succeed in getting the father's farm. When the seven years were up they all met at where they started. They went home and when they arrived at the house the father had a party on the lawn. The eldest was called first to see what trade he had learned. He said he was a robber. There was a magpie's nest in the lawn. The father told him to steal the eggs out of the next without the magpie finding him. He climbed the tree and
