Long ago in my district the people to go to old people to seek remedies. The cure of toothache was sooth wet with water and put into the tooth and salt also was used. Backache was a very common ailment long ago. It was cured by red flannel being put round them. There are many cures such as mumps and cuts. The cure of cuts were to be rubbed with bleeding grass. There was a certain cure in herbs for sores. It was said that any child born on an Easter Sunday had a certain cure.
Long ago there was a man who lived in the townland of crimlin. This man had a mare which had a foal which had milk. There was certain cures in the milk. The people came from all places for the cures.- Bailitheoir
