- Like all the rural districts of Ireland Drumcor has a plentiful supply of local forts.
The principal convenient ones are Drumcor, Drumckeagh Danesfort, Trinity Island and Lisnamandra. There was also a fort on Drumury Hill but it was levelled out over a hundred years ago for what purpose we do not know.
The fort in Lisnamandra has two rings in it.
All the rest have only one ring which is surrounded by a deep trench all around.
