    Bull's Milk
    "Bull's milk" is a drink used when there is a great dearth of milk in the neighbourhood. It is used especially in the Spring, because at that time the men are always thirsty when working in the fields. It was very easy to make. Oaten meal and water were mixed and left steeping over night . in the morning the oaten meal is strained from the mixture, and the remains are called "Bull's milk". It is of a deep yellow colour, wholesome to taste and healthy to drink.

    In many parts of the country there are peculiar customs with regards to "beistings". "Beistings" is the name given to the first milk of a newly calved cow. As we all know this milk is very yellow and it would be too strong to use for household purposes. The milk is given to the young calf and sometimes to the pigs.
    In some districts the beistings are not all given to these animals, but some of it is boiled. With some heating it turns into a curd and
