"Bull's milk" is a drink used when there is a great dearth of milk in the neighbourhood. It is used especially in the Spring, because at that time the men are always thirsty when working in the fields. It was very easy to make. Oaten meal and water were mixed and left steeping over night . in the morning the oaten meal is strained from the mixture, and the remains are called "Bull's milk". It is of a deep yellow colour, wholesome to taste and healthy to drink.
