- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)houses had no chimneys, and others had no glass for the window. The old houses had a hole in the roof, and they used to have a meal bag, or the skin of some animal in the windows, instead of glass.
The old floors were made of clay. Half doors were common in the district in former times, they are common now also. Sods and wood were used for the fire.
The old methods that were employed for giving light at night were, Bog-deal, candle-dips, and rushlight.- Bailitheoir
