A man named Blake had oats (black) oat's growing near and the boy got a handful of it and with the the cereal the mare got his arm around her neck. - With the rope he made a sort of bridle and was soon on her back. Off with mare and rider straight towards the new owner's house. Just in front of his door mare and rider cleared a high fence and cantered down the lane in to the main road. This owner took out a blunderbuss and fixed(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
