    100 years ago Scrabby had a famous horsefair on the 11th December.

  2. Poteen was made on a large scale in the townland of Corfree (Loc Gamhna). Revenue-men tried to check the business often but were outwitted by the Poteen makers crossing with their equipment an angle of the Lake to an island.
