- The first of April is called "all fool's day". The first three days of April is called the borrowing of March as the weather is usually bad.
People try to make fools of other people and send them on foolish errands. Sometimes a person does be sent for the loan of a round-square. When the person reaches that house he is told some one else has borrowed it; and the fool is sent further. This goes on until someone takes pity on him and tell's him. Sometimes a piece of paper is stuck to a person's back, and something wrote on it. The custom is to make the fool of the person before twelve o'clock.(continues on next page)- Collector
