Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There is a Mass Rock, three feet deep and four feet wide, where Mass used to be said during the Penal Laws in Pollerea. It is in Mr O'Bbeirn's field in Pollerea.
    It is in the parish of Kilbride, County Cavan. The rock is in a quiet place on the side of a hill. The hill was covered with furze some time ago but they are all eradicated from it now. There is a cave in the hill near the rock and there is said to be a subterrannean passage from the cave to Rathcravan castle. The priests used to hide in the cave when they were followed by the English soldiers.
    There was a noted priest hunter in this locality who used to watch the priests to say Mass every Sunday. Father McCarthy had a marvellous escape one Sunday while saying Mass. Another priest was shot while saying Mass. The track of the dying priest's knees are still seen in the rock. Father Dillon said Mass on
