One of the men said he must have lost some thing and went out and got the can and took a drink out of it and gave each man a drink. John thought they were not going to give any to the man on the horse and he told them to give him some. When he was done drinking the first man was asleep and soon they were all asleep. John got up and pulled the men to each side and made a pass to let the horse out. He knew all about the gentleman's place and he went into the shed and got a pair of rains and tied the man
