- No 3.They ate three meals in the day breakfast, dinner and supper.
For breakfast they ate porridge, made from oaten meal, and also indian meal, everybody ate porridge and the ate it out of noggins, and with wooden spoons. They has also tea and oaten bread and if they could afford it an egg.
For dinner long ago they ate potatoes and salt, they drained the pot of potatoes, and then put them into a potato basket, then they put the basket on a stool, and the whole family would sit round it and the peeled them with their thumb nail, the also had butter milk, and sometimes they had cabbage.
For supper they had potatoes and salt again.
They made a food called flummery this was made from toppings as they were called they were the hulls of the grains of oats,(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
