- Fairy FortsThere are two forts in this locality, namely 'Lisdonish' and 'Fairymount'. There are two rings around each of them.
There are round in shape and have an entrance going in to the centre. They are in view of each other.
Most of these forts were built by the Danes, and others were built by the Chieftains of Ireland as a defence against the enemy.
There was a story about a fort in the Townland of Killnacorr, it was told by an old man named John Reilly. In his young days he used to come through this fort at night when coming from his ceilidhe. One night about twelve o'clock, as he was coming past, he heard music. He went to look in but could see no one. He turned to come back but could not find his way.
After a couple of hours wandering about a thought struck him, of an old belief, to take off his coat and turn it inside out. He did this and was able to proceed on his journey.
