  1. Poem - Cavan Kerry Match (ar lean)

Poem composed by a local in commemoration of the victory of the Cavan football team over the men of Kerry in the All-Ireland Gaelic Semi-Final some few years ago.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
    Verse 3.
He played a right - wing forward although the ball was wet
He struck it with a master stroke quite comfortably in to the net.
For Dinneny, Blessing, Connolly, Devlin also Coyle
They played the Game on Sunday in the goold old Gaelic style.
    Verse 4.
Brave Willie Young is a type that's difficult yo get
For when he goes out fisting he always minds the net.
We thank the boys who lifted Old Breffni from the dark
And we'll be all there to cheer them to victory at Croke Park
The young and Oere [?] will all be there and it's soon I'll make a start
For I want to get there before them in my good old ass and cart.
