- At nearly every farmer's house you will find a churn. Our churn is a fairly large one, it is five feet in length. The bottom is wider than the top.
Butter is made about twice a week. The woman of the house does the churning.
At some houses the churn-ing is done by hand, and at others it is done by machinary.
When the butter goes into little crumbs like mustard seed, then we know that the churning is finished.
