- There was a farmer who had a young cow that would not give any milk. The cow grew older and still would not give any milk. After a while a hare came up and milked the cow. The farmer shot the hare in the leg. He followed the hare into the wood. The hare went into (the wood) a hut. The farmer looked in the window and saw a witch with(continues on next page)
