- Old people tell stories about an old woman who changed herself into a hare and took the butter of the churn and ran out the door. The farmer got his gun and ran out after the hare but when he got out the hare had disappeared.

- There are three forges in this parish. The smiths are Pat Kiernan, Jack Reilly and Phil Morgan. Pat Kiernan's father was a blacksmith. Phil Morgan's people were also blacksmiths.
