    Long ago when people would be travelling they used to have a bag on their backs and a cake of griddle bread in it. When the people would get hungry on their journey they would eat some of the cake.

    In big farm houses enough bread was baked on one day that would do the week. A cross was made on a cake by marking it with a knife.
