    it crossed his path again and when it crossed in front of him the third time, he got such a fright that he went to a neighbour's door and fell there in a faint. The people got a terrible shock and when he came to, he told what had happened.
    This was supposed to have been the Devil. The people knew that this strange apparition was seen several times before in Mullagh and told him so. From that day to this, he never was out late at night.
