- It was an old belief that people could change themselves from human shape into hares in order to take the milk from cows.
The story is told for truth that one morning when two men were out hunting about this locality with two dogs one of which was a black one they started a hare on a hillock now belonging to Mr Hugh Cooney of Corratinure. This hare seemed very small at first but as she ran she grew bigger. They chased her down along the river between Beagh and Granaquin. There she went in on the window of an old bire.
