Three holes are made, each of the same distance apart in the road.
Then about four boys throw their marbles from the first hole to the third. Who ever is the nearest to the hole first. The boy who gets the tenth hole first, and hits the other marbles wins the game - Nearly an acre and a half is under potatoes every year. Sometimes manure is spread on the ground before it is ploughed. My father ploughs the ground, harrows it and opens the drills with a double mould-board plough. When the manure is not ploughed down it is spread in the drills. The potatoes are cut with a knife. When potatoes are cut they are called seed. Lime is shaken(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
