  1. Weather-Lore
In olden times in Ireland the people had many interesting ways for foretelling the weather.
    Sky.
If the sky is red in the west in the evening the next say shall be good. some say that if there is a red sky in the morning you will have rain before night. If the sky is cloudy it is a sign of rain.
    Moon.
If the moon sits on its back at night, there will be bad weather. If there is a ring around the moon there will be bad weather. Some say that if there is a lot of clouds round the moon it is a good sign of rain.
    Star.
If you see stars falling there will be rain. If you see stars twinkling there will be frost.
