Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)When the potatoes are in the drills for a while they are harrowed with a saddle-harrow. Then they are moulded and then they are sprayed with blue-stone and washing soda twice. After a while they are dug with a digger or with a spade. The young people gather them into buckets and put them in pits in the field. There is not a hole dug but just they put them on the ground and cover them with rushes first and then with clay. Skerries Pinks, Aran Banners, and Epicures are the local names for the different kinds of potatoes. Pinks grown the best in this district.
