  2. Forts

    There are a number of forts in this country, there names are Tunnyinn fort, Drumnagress fort, and Rackane fort. They are called "fourths" in this country, and they are also known by the name rath, dun, and liss.
    This name liss is applied to place names such as Lisnalong, Lisnashanna, and Lisnaskea. The name dun is applied to place names as, Dungannon, Dunlaoghaire, Dundee, Dundalk, and Dunmanway, also the name rath is used in place names such as Rathane, and Rathkenny.
    It is said that the Danes built these forts for protection long ago
